Ellen Vermeulen graduated at the Royal Institute for Theatre, Cinema & Sound (RITCS) where she's working as researcher and teacher since 2016.
She directed several documentaries (9999, Catch-19to25, ...). Her work has been presented at several national and international filmfestivals. In 2015 she won the Fried van Hoof human rights award.
In 2017 she established Chère Jeanne, a vehicle to produce author-driven documentaries. Chère Jeanne as reference to the beginning of a letter directed to Jeanne Dielman.
In 2017 she also established the Institute for Constrained Radicalization.
